Balletto B1 DevKit

Get started with the Balletto B1 DevKit

The Balletto B1 DevKit (DK-B1) is a cost-effective, single-board platform that brings out all signals on the Balletto B1 MCU to easily access pins for power and performance profiling, prototyping, and more. The B1 MCU on the board has a Cortex-M55 CPU core with Helium-M Vector Extension, operating at 160 MHz, an Ethos-U55 neural network processor core with 128 MACs per cycle, 2MB of SRAM and 1.8MB of NVM, off-chip OSPI flash and PSRAM memory devices (64MB and 32MB respectively), a variety of digital and analog interfaces, plus and a BLE 5.3 + 802.15.4 radio subsystem with a chip antenna.

Balletto B1 DevKit (DK-B1) User Guide

(v1.0) This User Guide describes how to set up your B1 DevKit and how to configure a Zephyr design environment so you can do designs that utilize the BLE wireless sub-system in the B1 device. It also describes how to get the Alif Balletto Phone App (available on iOS and Android) so you can connect to the board and interact with it.

Alif Security Toolkit

Quick Start Guide (v3.2) shows how to install the Alif Security Toolkit (SETOOLS) for Ensemble and Balletto devices and shows some common commands used during application development.

STOP: Users of DK-B1 kits with A3 revision silicon should NOT update to version 1.109.00 or later! Please reference the Documentation Archive Library for previous versions.

NOTE: Beginning with the V1.107.00 release and onwards, the default tools configuration for the target device is the Ensemble E8 device used on the Ensemble E8 DevKit. If you are using any other kit or your own board, you will need to select the correct target device. See Section 4 of the latest Alif Security Toolkit Quick Start Guide for details on different ways to do this.

Alif Security Toolkit: (v1.111.01) for use with the Ensemble E1C and Balletto B1 devices or evaluation kits. After downloading your Toolkit, be sure to update your board to the same version by running the updateSystemPackage utility.

Alif Security Toolkit User Guide

(v1.110.0) This user guide describes all of the commands in the Alif Security Toolkit (SETOOLS) for Ensemble and Balletto devices.

Alif SE Host Services API Archive

(v1.111.01) This archive contains source code for the Alif SE Host Services API software release for use with the Alif devices and evaluation kits.

RF Shielding PCB Design Guidelines for Balletto B1 Wireless MCUs

(v1.0) This app note details the PCB guidelines for including an RF shield over a Balletto B1 wireless MCU in order to reduce RF emissions. The other two are public versions of our layout guidelines for B1 and E1C devices.

Balletto B1 PCB Layout Guidelines

(v1.4) This app note provides tips and techniques for printed circuit board (PCB) layout for the Alif Balletto B1 family wireless MCUs. This document will provide PCB guidelines for proper power distribution and decoupling, and signal integrity to ensure a successful PCB design.
